Back in 2017 the Passage took on an allotment with the aim of growing vegetables and fruit that we can use in our meals.
Good quality meals come from good quality ingredients and we took the decision that we would grow a part of these ourselves. These are all grown organically and harvested as we need them for the Tuesday night meals.
Its been quite a long process getting the allotment up to standard as the plot we took over had been laying dormant for over 40 years ! There were old buildings, trees, lots and lots of weeds, rubbish and other waste on the site that all needed clearing.
This has all been completed and with some raised beds, fruit area, wildlife area and plenty of feeding stations for the wild birds we are up and running. We are planning for 2020 to be the first full year of production using all the space that we have to produce some lovely fruit and vegetables that our clients will enjoy.
