We were made aware of the chance to apply for salvaging at Leeds Festival this year and we were lucky enough to be selected! It was an interesting opportunity to go and potentially stock up on tents and other useful items that we can then give out to those that need it.
To say that I was shocked on the state of the camping sites was an understatement. As you can see from the photos below, it was quite a challenge to find what we were looking for as not only was it strewn with detritus but also the festival attendees seem to like to either wreck, cut or burn their tents that they leave behind.
I did, however, manage to get a number of items that we can use and this will save us a significant amount of money over the next couple of months. I managed to salvage 21 tents of which 19 will be used for the Passage. All have been checked, dried, repacked and are now ready to give out.
